07 Nov iPhone X
It’s here, the most anticipated iPhone since the original. The iPhone X. The new iPhone is set to start at a price base of $1,000 for the 64GB and $1,149 for 264GB. The new mega iPhone features wireless charging, first of its kind facial recognition and a state of the art camera.
The iPhone X no longer has the beloved touch ID feature, but now Face ID. The unique infrared face scanner uses the camera system on the front of the phone to scan the contours and shape of a person’s head to unlock the device and authorize mobile payments. Apple boasts that there is a one in a million chance of your iPhone getting hacked. Oh, and Face ID works through sunglasses.
Even if you’re willing to shell out the big bucks for the iPhone that can do all, you’re going to have to wait about six weeks. “In a statement, Apple encouraged customers to arrive early – its stores open at 8:00am. You could also try your luck at a third-party store, like your carrier or Best Buy, though third-party stores tend to carry fewer units,” Apple said. But with the crazy demand around these iPhones, there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to scoop one up.
The iPhone X is not the phone of the future, but it definitely represents Apple’s most ambitious attempt ever at making a phone absolutely seamless. A phone that basically never forces you to think about the object itself.
With the steep price tag and extensive wait list, it begs the question, are you going to order a iPhone X? There has not been anything like this on a smartphone before.
