A is for Alphabet

What do you do when your search engine company of 11 years becomes the largest in the world? You make a bigger company.

Last week Larry Page, the (now) former CEO of Google, announced via a blog that he was starting a new company called Alphabet. The article which was titled, G is for Google, outlines how the search company he created has changed and evolved. With side project such as Google X, Youtube, Android, and Life Sciences, he felt that the company needed more room outside of the Google name.

Well now they have the space, and 25 more letters to fill.

The move has been praised by most of the media sighting how it opens a whole new world for the company. They were not alone, as shares of Google rose by nearly 5% after the announcement, as consumers seem to be excited by the change as well.

We will see if this move is too much to handle, but somehow I feel that this has serious potential to take off in the future.

Just as parents teach their children the alphabet, now Google’s competitors will be taught their ABCs.
