11 Oct Fashion Forward
We can probably safely call 2017 the year of social media influencers, particularly in fashion. With top-tier fashion bloggers ranking in multimillion-dollar campaigns, it comes as no surprise that every self-proclaimed fashionista wants to stray away from clothes and jewelry and become a full lifestyle brand.
These fashion influencers and bloggers stand out from the pack thanks to their one-of-a kind sartorial sense and sharp business acumen. They are shifting from solely just showing consumers how it should be done to incorporating it directly into their lifestyle.
“When you’re talking about a product, they don’t just want a review of the product, they want to see it in your life, they want to see it integrated. Instead of showing off my outfit of the day, I’ll say: I bought this because I can wear this ten times, in different ways. I’ll show them how I wore it to work or a date. Yes, it’s still fashion, but it has evolved into how it fits into my life,” said one of the bloggers.
The way we are now defining lifestyle is simple: what is relevant to our lives TODAY. It is the acknowledgement, thanks to all the countless voices allowed to be heard (look at the internet alone), that marketing and media are of a new era.
Today, influencers are the ultimate channel through which brands reach audiences and as a result the audiences are more engaged than ever. Audiences want to know everything – from where someone gets their hair done to what they buy at Trader Joes. Bottom line, the lines are becoming more and more blurred.
The market is so saturated with new bloggers and influencers. Getting advice from a blogger instead of a company gives customers the authentic feel that consumers yearn for.
